We are Sarah and Angus and we are the owners of Anytime Fitness Shirley! Our vision is to have an inclusive and motivating environment where members can be supported to achieve their fitness goals. We love the gym and fitness and also enjoy the outdoors, from skiing and mountain biking to going on adventures with our dog. We look forward to seeing you at our gym.

I started working in the fitness industry in 2015 but my health and well-being journey began in 2009. I am passionate about helping and supporting people to make positive lifestyle changes, in and outside of the gym. I know how important health and fitness is not just for the physical benefits but also mental well-being. In my spare time I love being anywhere where there are animals and spending time with family and friends.

With a background in dance, I have always been passionate about health and fitness, which led me to complete a degree in sports and exercise in 2022. I have since been a group fitness and personal trainer. I am committed to fostering a safe, joyful, and healthy journey, and strive to inspire appreciation for every life stage, ensuring fulfilment in people's fitness and well-being journey.

I have a huge passion for the fitness industry and helping people achieve their goals. I currently play and coach both ice/inline hockey here in Canterbury as I have done for the last 6 years, my experiences with both my sport and fitness journey have led me to where I am today. I am currently studying towards a Bachelor of Sports Coaching, majoring in strength & conditioning and have trained in the gym for the last 5 years. I am always up for a chat about all things health and fitness related so do come and say hello.

I began training in my mid twenties, and quickly found a passion for health and wellbeing that I hold to this day. Being on a weight loss journey and seeing success on the other side, I know what it takes to start that road to stay to the path and make it fun. Over time, I developed my knowledge in strength, conditioning and flexibility development, as well as rehabilitation, which are core values in the programs I build for my clients.

With over a decade of experience in the industry and also as a top-level athlete I can understand what measures it takes to get successful results. I make it my duty to ensure it is as easy as possible for my clients to gain this success. On top of this I try to make the gym as enjoyable as I can for my clients, so they not only achieve the results they are after but have fun along the way.

Fitness and self improvement have always been important values in my life, and I have turned my passion for them into my job. When I'm not helping people achieve their health and fitness goals you'll most likely find me on a walk or up a hill with my rescue pup Nala. I'm always down to chat about your health and fitness goals, so when you see me in the club come and say hi.
Edward Hsing

From a young age, I have been immersed in a world of sporting opportunities. I have been in the sporting scene for the past decade, specialising in Pole vaulting and Rugby. Having trained with high performance athletes, I have gained a deep understanding of tailoring programs towards my sporting needs. Strength and conditioning is very important to me, as someone who has had his fair share of injuries. Rehabilitation and preventing reinjuries is also an area of expertise. I employ a holistic approach to coaching, ensuring that I understand my clients’ needs and aspirations fully. By setting realistic goals, I create evidence-based programs that are sustainable. My mission is to educate, support, and inspire individuals on their fitness journeys, helping them become the best version of themselves.

Vanessa Warren
Trainer
Vanessa offers more than 20 years industry experience. I believe in empowering people to make the positive, achievable life changes they desire, and also helping those people to reach their full potential. Diabetes,obesity related health issues, women’s health issues (PCOS, Endometriosis, pre & post natal care) and bodybuilding/bodysculpting are my areas of expertise.
